Redis

Fast. Suspiciously fast.
Connecting
| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Host | localhost | |
| Port | 6379 | |
| Password | Optional | |
| Database index | 0 | 0 to 15 |
- URLs:
redis://. - There is no username field, so Redis ACL users other than
defaultare not supported yet. - TLS is not supported yet. A
rediss://URL is refused rather than connecting in plain text. To reach a remote Redis securely, use an SSH tunnel.
The Redis workspace
The header has the DB n · k keys menu to switch between databases 0 to 15, plus Health Check, Activity, Pub/Sub, Reload (⌘ R) and close.
Keys
Type a pattern like user:* to filter (Lily uses SCAN, about 500 keys at a time, with Load more). Keys are grouped into folders on :, and each shows its type: STRING, HASH, LIST, SET, ZSET or STREAM.
Values
| Type | What you can do |
|---|---|
| String | Edit as text; JSON can be shown pretty-printed. Save with ⌘ S |
| Hash | Add, edit and delete fields |
| List | Add, edit and delete items |
| Set | Add and delete members |
| Sorted set | Add, edit and delete members and scores |
| Stream | View entries as a table and delete them |
Each key loads in full. Delete key removes it, after confirming.
Expiry
The detail shows the TTL (no expiry, seconds left, or expired). Set expiry offers 1 minute, 5 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, or No expiry (persist).
Lily does not create new keys and has no command console yet; use redis-cli for that. Keys of module types, like RedisJSON, are not supported: do not edit them in Lily.
Pub/Sub
Subscribe to a channel to watch messages arrive (the last 200), and publish to it. Publishing is blocked on read-only connections.
Activity
- Slow commands from
SLOWLOG, colored at 10 ms and 100 ms, with Clear log. - Clients from
CLIENT LIST, with Kill.
Refresh by hand.
Health Check
Big keys, keys without TTL, maxmemory, eviction policy, fragmentation and evictions. See Health Check.
