SQLite

Fits in a file. Fits in your heart.
Opening a file
Pick SQLite in the wizard, then Choose… to select the file (or type its Path). There is no host, user or SSH.
Once connected, the Database file button in the sidebar opens another file in the same connection. The Attached database picker switches between main and any attached databases.
SQLite comes with macOS, so nothing else is needed.
Try it first
The connection manager's A tiny database. A big first step. card opens a sample SQLite store, read-only, with customers, products, orders and order items.
What works
Browsing, editing, the query editor, Health Check, Understand, Ask, Investigate and migrations to and from SQLite.
Explain shows EXPLAIN QUERY PLAN. There is no visual plan or Trace, since SQLite has no server to watch.
Limits
- SQLite cannot change a column's type. Recreate the table instead.
- Truncate runs as
DELETE FROM. - Foreign keys cannot be added to an existing table, so a migration into SQLite skips them and warns you.
- There are no schemas to create.
